OUR MISSION
Born of the Ochil Hills, Ochil Astronautics is a hardware engineering company pushing the boundaries of technology to grow fresh, nutritious food in the most extreme environments.
Whether for soldiers, refugees, or astronauts, we create the systems that bring life-sustaining resources where they’re needed most.
Just like the hills, supplying fresh life to the land far and wide, we strive to bring new life to every corner of the world – and beyond.
From the smallest county in Scotland to the harshest environments on Earth, and out into the vastness of space, we enable humanity to thrive where it once could not.
Our mission is to empower humanity to travel further, stay longer, and live better, in orbit and beyond, by bringing fresh food and vital resources to those who need them most.
While our county’s motto might be Look Aboot Ye, we’re always looking beyond the peak: always pushing boundaries, always learning.
Because when we make life possible in the most impossible places, we unlock a better future.
For people everywhere.

WE’RE SERIOUS ABOUT SUSTAINABILITY
Ochil Astronautics is taking sustainability into account from the offset. It’s important that we address this when designing our satellite solutions. Not only is LEO becoming congested and the risk of a Kessler effect event increasing, but the amount of exotic particles in the upper atmosphere is increasing. It’s on space companies to innovate and ensure these concerns are addressed immediately whilst legislation catches up.
Once public consultation has been completed, we will be following the BSI Flex 1969 Space Sustainability standard for design, production, space collision avoidance and more. This will mean Ochil Astronautics lead the way on enacting the BSI standard and Botanic Sky will pass the ISO standard Life Cycle Assessment.
