Ochil Astronautics Joins UK Space Agency Accelerator
The space AgTech company will join 29 other businesses in this year’s Explore cohort.
21st July 2025 – Ochil Astronautics has been accepted into the highly competitive UK Space Agency Accelerator Explore Programme.
The Scottish space AgTech business is one of just 30 UK-based space companies taking part in the four-month long programme.
The accelerator will see the chosen cohort participate in bootcamps, mentoring, and peer networking sessions over the course of 16 weeks.
Led by engineer and RAF Veteran, Stuart Preston, Ochil Astronautics is on a mission to bring fresh food to space, creating innovative hydroponics solutions aimed at helping astronauts extend their time in orbit.
This opportunity follows a string of recent successes for Ochil Astronautics including showcasing at London Tech Week, and taking part in a six-month Founders Programme with Barclays Eagle Labs.
Speaking about the opportunity, Preston said: “It’s an honour to be chosen as part of the 2025 Explore cohort in what was a fierce, competitive selection process. This will stand Ochil Astronautics in good stead to continue our growth journey and I look forward to seeing where this takes us.”
The programme kicks off with a two-day bootcamp in London on 23rd July and aims to give the selected businesses an opportunity to shape their space business idea into a viable, scalable venture.
